QUICK TAKE:
Customization and interchangable logos- giving shoes multiple use-scenarios- have been trending heavily in 2019. New Era and New Balance capitalize on this by giving sneakerheads the ultimate pack to match their heads with their feet, with a New Balance 997H x New Era 59Fifty featuring interchangable ‘N’ logos.

DESIGN:
The hat and shoes within this pack both feature dark, neutral base colorways, combining various shades of grey and black. The pop comes from the five different interchangable embroidered ‘N’ logos. These velcro N’s can also be affixed to the hat’s velcro front panel. The pack also includes multiple brightly-colored lace sets and straps for the hat, to complete the entire look. A special co-branded box that extolls the values of “choosing your own style” then rounds things off

ANALYSIS:
In my opinion, this pack does not quite hit the mark. Although the concept is there, execution is lacking, due to a lack of a clear audience for the shoes. While the base shoe is a solid colorway, some of the provided accents are too wild for most average wearers. The bright colors almost seem childish, which may not be as exciting for more mature wearers.

RELEASE INFORMATION:
The cap-and-kicks combo pack debuted via New Balance Japan on July 26th with a stateside release coinciding at the same time at newbalance.com.
