QUICK TAKE:
As Nike continues to build upon its offering of React-enhanced footwear, we see another variant of the original Epic React model. While the React tooling is not altered, this new Epic React Phantom model features an oversized Swoosh that is sure to stand out in the gym or on the streets.
DESIGN:
Laces are tossed to the wayside with the Nike Epic React Phantom, which instead features a totally white Flyknit Upper, emblazoned with the massive Swoosh emerging from the heel of the shoe on its lateral side. The medial portion features a smaller Swoosh. Color pops are featured in the heel, with yellow, pink and purple electrifying the whole silhouette. Finally a touch of informative branding is used on the tongue’s pull tab.
Analysis:
While this shoe is not a massive enhancement on the original Epic React model, Nike continues to provide runners and casual wearers with plenty of different versions of their (2nd newest) technology. The Swoosh continues to try to get React on the feet of as many as possilble in a bid to outdo adidas BOOST.
