ASICS has begun to revitalize some of its classic models in a upgraded variation dubbed “NEXKIN”. This time, the brand taps the GEL-Lyte III to get the NEXKIN makeover, with the help of Tokyo’s atmos. This summer-ready design is the perfect upgrade for a timeless model like the GEL-Lyte III.
NEXKIN is a a textile developed by ASICS to be extremely lightweight and breathable. The special fabric features a camouflage pattern, which matches the translucent patterned outsole. Each sneaker also features 3M accents on the medial and laterla side of the ASICS branding and heel areas.
This summer, sneakers have stayed on the feet of most trend-setters, who have refused to don sandals or flip-flops, even in oppressive heat. ASICS understands this trend, and reacts by creating a variant of one of its most iconic models. Teaming up with Atmos to add a bit of collaborative flair never hurts, either.
The GEL-Lyte III “NEXKIN” shoes hit atmos’ web store, physical outposts and select Japanese ASICS shops on August 3 for ¥15,000 JPY (approximately $140 USD).
