QUICK TAKE:
One of the most anticipated 2020 Air Jordan retros returns this weekend, as Jordan Brand officially re-releases its Air Jordan 13 “Flint” model for the first time in 10 years. Although COVID-19 caused some delay to the shoe release, sneakerheads and MJ-fans were surprised by a quickstrike drop on the day of the “Last Dance” finale. For those who did not snag at the early release, a second chance comes this Saturday.
DESIGN:
This year’s iteration of the Air Jordan 13 “Flint” returns to the build of its original predecessor. 3M reflective Navy mesh covers the side panels of the upper, with Flint Grey suede used on the mudguards and heel. Finally, white pebbled leather covers the tongue and toebox, with a complementary white and flint grey rubber outsole serving as a base. Jordan branding can be found on the tongue and in the iconic holographic heel jewel.
ANALYSIS:
The Air Jordan 13 “Flint” has been retroed before- in both 2005 and 2010- but, neither pair featured the 3M navy blue side paneling. A return to this original reflective stitching woven into the upper will surely have most sneakerheads drooling. The hype surrounding the “Last Dance” documentary could cause this pair to fly off shelves even quicker than anticipated.
RELEASE INFORMATION:
After a series of delays related to COVID, the Air Jordan 13 “Flint” will be available on Saturday, May 30, for $190 in men’s sizes, $140 for big kids, $80 for little kids, and $60 for infants.
