QUICK TAKE:
Supreme and Nike continue their nonstop onslaught of collaborations with another project releasing this week- their highest-priced foray yet. This time Supreme chose to put its mark on the Nike Air Max 95 Lux, a premium variation of the original Air Max 95. Releasing in three all-over colorways, this collection will fly off the shelves, even at a price tag of $500.

DESIGN:
The Nike Air Max 95 got its Italian Lux edition back in the early 2000s. Supreme adds to the luxurious nature of the model with additional details of their own. The shoes are made entirely with Italian leather, from the outsole to the insoles. Three solid colorways of black, red, and royal blue will be available, each mounted on top of a black Air Max sole unit. Supreme branding is lasered into the side panels and tongues of the shoe, along with custom insoles adorned with gold lettering pressed into the heel. Supreme also includes Italy-shaped hangtags that have “Made in Italy” and “L.E. Lux” inscribed on both sides.
ANALYSIS:
This is Supreme’s most expensive collaboration with Nike yet, but still falls in line with many of the skate shop’s projects with the Swoosh. The silhouette is basically given a ‘punk luxury’ makeover. Full leather in rich colors that symbolize punk styling are applied to urban, sporty Nike models. This strategy has worked and will continue to work for the two brands.
RELEASE INFORMATION:
The Supreme x Nike Air Max 95 Lux will release on November 7th exclusively at Supreme New York, Brooklyn, San Francisco, London, Paris and on its website with a Japan release taking place on November 9th. The retail price tag is set at $500 per pair.
