Todd Snyder teams up with New Balance to release the New Balance 997 “Love” for Pride Month

QUICK TAKE:

Todd Snyder teams up with New Balance to bring to life an awesome celebration of this year’s Pride Month. Honoring the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and the growing celebrations of modern day, Snyder dressed up the New balance 997 in a subtle rainbow colorway dubbed the New balance 997 “Love”. Snyder had recently worked with NB on the New Balance 990v3 “Dark Ale”.

Design:

While many Pride-based sneakers can be a little too aggressively rainbow-colored, Todd Snyder keeps it much more mellow. Using rich suede, the upper features a summery palette of lime green, soft pink, pastel blue, and a heavy orange. The shoe is finished off with rainbow thread embroidered into the tongue for New balance logo placement.

ANALYSIS:

This release unfortunately sold out ridiculously quickly, like many NB drops this year, such as the highly coveted Bodega x New balance 997S “No Days Off”. Is New Balance currently releasing the most exclusive drops in the game? Overall, this is another great colorway, for a great cause. It reminds of the annual J. Crew x New Balance collaborations, which also feature more subtle suede flavors.

RELEASE INFORMATION:

The New Balance 997 “Love” unfortunately SOLD OUT yesterday at Toddsnyder.com for $220. Peep StockX or other reselling platforms for a chance at a pair.
