Polar Skate Co. is back with another clean collaboration with the Swoosh. Initially, the Swedish skate company broke into the collaborative scene working with multiple Converse models. This month, the skate brand returns with its takes on the almost-forgotten Nike SB Trainer, and a new Nike Blazer Low colorway.
Polar Skate Co. is known for its team’s carefree, aggressive skating, which can be seen through this model. The brand uses a simple palette of white, black, and a rich blue to cover the upper and midsole, which is leather with suede wrapping around the toebox and heel. Polar branding is used on the tongue, inner footbed, and on the forefoot strap, which reads “POLAR”. Finally, the shoe is finished off with a glorious gum bottom.
Nike is releasing numerous models of the Nike Air Trainer this year, and hooking up with the fresh crew at Polar Skate Co. is the perfect way to get pairs to fly off the shelf. In their last video, “We Blew it at Some Point”, team rider Emile Laurent is seen skating a pair of Nike trainers, which may have led to the Nike SB Air Trainer 1 getting a call back up to the cutting table.
The Polar Skate Co. x Nike SB Air Trainer 1 is set to release on June 19th at select retailers. We’ll let you know more as we get information!
