As we await the beginning of the final Game of Thrones season, adidas has provided us with release info on their highly anticipated Game of Thrones pack. The capsule features six colorways representing the most important houses of Westeros, as well as the Night’s Watch, White Walkers, and Targaryen’s Dragons.
Design:
The shoes feature colorways inspired by the colors of their respective Houses or motifs. A heel tab inscribed with “Winter is Coming” and the shoe’s House adorns all of the pairs, as well as house motifs hidden on the back of tongue tags and the sigil of each house on the front of the tongue.
Analysis:
adidas and Game of Thrones have both seen concurrent rises in popularity, and this collection brings both trendy brands together in the complete package. Although not everyone feels the need to display their favorite GoT House on-foot, the colorways are all solid on their own. Overall, this is a great play for the Three Stripes, as they capitalize on the continued popularity of BOOST and the added allure of GoT lore.
Release Info:
The full Game of Thrones x adidas UltraBOOST collection will release with a 48-hour prelaunch via the adidas app on March 20. It will then hit the adidas web store and select retailers on March 22, just in time for the eighth and final season of the HBO show. Each pair will be priced at €180 EUR (approx. $200 USD).
