Supreme has always had a close relationship with Nike, and the two will collaborate yet again for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection. The continued emphasis on early 2000s styling is repeated, as Supreme will drop their adaptation of the Air Tailwind 4 this year.
The Air Tailwind 4 was originally released in 1999, and its chunky sole and classic trainer aesthetic are perfect in the current streetwear climate. The shoe will drop in a black/blue and white/red colorway, as seen above.
Compared to Supreme’s last Nike collaboration. which utilized the Nike Zoom Streak Spectrum Plus, we speculate this shoe will see a much quicker sell-out, and, of course, higher resale value. The inclusion of Nike Air and a less gaudy design (no flames) makes a much more wearable pair for the average Supreme buyer. We are still awaiting more detailed images of the Supreme branding on the heel and tongue, but the colorways are solid and most things are automatically better with Air.
Release details have not been released yet, but expect these to drop in the next two to three months. We’ll make sure to update on prices as we know them.
Supreme’s Nike Air Tailwind IV collaboration will release this Thursday, March 21, at Supreme NY, LA, London and Paris locations and online. Japan will host its release just days later on March 23.
