Sony Playstation Nike Air Force 1

Nike recently released images of their highly sought after Playstation x Nike Air Force 1 shoe. The shoe was unveiled during a Drew League event and then at the annual E3 video gaming conference. There is no official release slated for the sneaker, but if you were lucky enough to have been in Los Angeles for E3, you could’ve used SNKRS Stash to acquire a pair if you have an Android and are in the area of the LA Convention Center.

The shoe is currently only available via Nike Early Access, but otherwise has no official release date although it is listed at $200. The 2006/2009 edition, pictured below, was released in extremely limited quantities both years.

The 2018 Playstation Nike Air Force 1 is a great improvement on its predecessor. The shoe’s upper is smooth black leather on the toexbox /midfoot and glossy black patent leather on the lateral side of the heel. The classic jewel swoosh is upgraded with a jelly variant, which is filled with Playstation button symbols and features a pearlescent navy-purple paying homage to the Playstation loading screen.

On the heel the same blue jelly gradient serves as the background for two PlayStation logos: an interlocking PS graphic on the left, and Sony’s iconic 4 buttons detail on the right.

Finally, the insoles feature both the Playstation and Nike branding, and the shoe is finished off with a classic white Air Force 1 midsole. The translucent sole features the classic Playstation symbols and wraps up the co-branded pair beautifully. Tell us what you think about this release. Do you think these are worth the hype?
