QUICK TAKE:
Tyler, the Creator wrapped up his Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival earlier this week. It was only right that his brand new Converse Gianno model and his latest work for Converse to drop. In this post, we’ll focus on the artist’s latest rendition of the Converse Chuck 70.

DESIGN:
Tyler, the Creator has developed a colorful, whimsical theme for his Golf brand, and this collaboration continues to speak to his playful simplicity in design. The Chuck 70 features a minimalist approach, striping away some extra detailing to instead hone in on a few core parts of the shoe. The upper is a light pink, with a bare off-white midsole that has had its foxing stripe removed. Light blue and yellow are used for accenting, with “Golf le Fleur” text embroidered around the heels of the shoes, along with Tyler’s iconic flower logo on the medial portion of the right shoe. The text is also seen in light blue on the tongue and medial star logo. Finally, metallic silver eyelets finish off the pair.

ANALYSIS:
Tyler, the Creator is the spokesperson for a new youth generation who are not afraid to show who they are through wild colors and designs. While his footwear collaborations with Converse are not the most accessible for all sneaker connoisseurs, the continued relationship speaks to the marketing strength of the artist and his cult.
