Vietnam’s Marathon Inspired The Size? x adidas LXCON

QUICK TAKE:

Today we have images of the second release in size? x adidas‘s “Alternate Pack”. The three-part collaborative sneaker collection commemorates lesser-known marathons around the world through the use of size?-designed archived adidas running models. This installation commemorates the Vietnamese ‘Jungle Marathon’ using a lushly colored adidas LXCON ’94.

Continuing to keep track of worldwide marathons you may not have heard of, Size? and adidas go from Jordan’s red rock deserts to the lush landscapes of Vietnam with the LXCON ’94 now packed in its carry-on. An homage to almost everyone’s travel destination of choice as well as one of the late Anthony Bourdain’s favorites, Grab a detailed look at the pair here as well as the detailed graphic on the insole right here and expect to find them exclusively on size? come November 15th.

DESIGN:

The 1990’s installment of the “Alternate Pack” is the LXCON ’94, a model that has seen some action in a general release recently. For this model, the Vietnamese Jungle Marathon serves as inspiration, so size? splashed the silhouette with deep hues of forest greens and coral accents. Finally, orange and yellow detailing add pop to the retro technical model. ’90s’ branding appears on the pull tab, and a graphical depiction of the marathon’s location can be found printed on the insole.

ANALYSIS:

adidas and size? continue to reach into the archives for more unique models to tell their stories. While the LXCON ’94 has been pulled out previously over the past few month, it is nice that European retailers continue to keep lesser-known models at the forefront of brands’ minds as we head into 2020.

RELEASE INFORMATION:

The adidas x size? LXCON ’94 will release exclusively from size? on November 15th for $130
