Converse with Sustainable Denim to their Chuck Taylor 1970

Converse introduces Renew Denim to their ‘Converse Renew‘ Program with this three-part drop that features the company’s new 100% recycled denim upper on their classic Chuck Taylor 1970 model. Converse Renew is Converse’s first major foray into sustainable manufacturing.

The Renew Denim collection includes the pairs pictured above, which provide a darkening range of washes. Each upper is made of 100% recycled denim found and upcycled from landfills. The denim uppers rest on a clean white midsole with white detailing used on the iconic Converse All-Star logo, as well.

Consumers are more focused on the sustainable practices and ethical mission statements of the companies they purchase products from than ever before. With the growing environmental issues around the world, it is important for brands to find ways to recycle and reduce their waste. Initiatives like ‘Converse Renew’ create lifetime fans and ultimately reduce environmental harm.

Finding new and more efficient manufacturing techniques will help companies by endearing them to consumers and also can allow them to develop more cost-effective practices before competitors.
