Eric Koston’s Delight: Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low

Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low

QUICK TAKE:

Nike SB and Jordan Brand have linked up on multiple Air Jordan 1 high collaborations. The legendary AJ1 was often worn by skaters back in the day, and today we see the first rendition of a Air Jordan 1 Low developed specifically for skateboarding. Nike SB and Jordan Brand worked with iconic skateboarder, Eric Koston, to create the midnight blue colorway releasing soon.

DESIGN:

The shoe features a white leather base with midnight navy blue overlays. The Nike Swoosh is metallic silver, with hits of red on the toebox in the form of a Jumpman logo. The shoe is finished off with a white midsole and navy rubber outsole. Finally, Nike SB branding is used on the tongue and insole (which is Nike Air-enabled). Eric Koston’s name can be found on the interior tongue tag.

ANALYSIS:

All of the Jordan Brand x Nike SB releases have been instant successes. At first, I was not in love with this model, but after seeing Koston’s affinity for it during the Copenhagen Open last week, my mind started to change. It’s awesome Koston got to work on the project, and I hope it’s a sign of more cross-over between Jordan Brand and Nike SB, arguably Nike’s two most trendy programs.

RELEASE INFORMATION:

The Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low “Midnight Navy” will release on June 17th online at Nike.com for $110.
