QUICK TAKE:
Every June, Jordan Brand creates a unique, exciting colorway for the annual outdoor French basketball tournament, Quai 54. The tourney has seen a variety of models used by JB over the years, and this time around, the Air Jordan 8 is used for the special event.
DESIGN:
The shoe has a black nubuck base, complimented by black mesh underlays. The heel and ankle of the shoe features a colorful geometric pattern. The colors of white, red, green, blue, and yellow are also featured on the tongue’s Air Jordan logo. The shoe is finished off with a translucent heel counter and a shimmering iridescent effect on the midsole which sits a top an icy blue outsole.
ANALYSIS:
The Quai 54 colorways are always highly colorful and bright, but this is one of the more tasteful colorways to date. The use of more primary colors makes the shoe more appealing and functional than the usual highlighter, bright colors that have been used in other iterations.
RELEASE INFORMATION:
At this point there is no concrete information on an exact release date, but expect the shoes to drop around the time of the tournament, this Summer 2019.
