Quick Take:
Converse became the most recent major sneaker brand to jump back into the world of basketball with the reveal of the new Converse All Star Pro BB. The new silhouette serves as an update to the legendary Converse All Star Chuck Taylor, iconic for being the first for-basketball shoe ever.

Design:
The sleek, modernized silhouette almost resembles a wrestling shoe, and also bears resemblance to the Nike SB Koston 3 Hyperfeel XT, seen below. The shoe is upgraded with a REACT foam drop-in cupsole, a uni-layer upper of Quadfit mesh, and a sticky outsole pattern inspired by the iconic traction of the original. However, even with all the additional tech, the shoe still shares many similarities with the Converse All Star.
Analysis:
This adaptation is step in the right direction for Converse, and is an exciting look at the possibilities of a classic athletic brand returning to the market. The shoes are solid and perform well, and could be the look for summer hooping. Outfitted with top-of-the-line Nike technology, they can compete with any kicks on the court. Time will tell if Converse continues to release performance basketball footwear.

Release Info:
The Converse All Star Pro BB will drop in limited quantities exclusively in the US on May 18th for $140 in both the white and black colorways. A global launch has been confirmed for June.
