Vans teams up with the Harry Potter universe to bring us a six-shoe capsule collection that will be sure to excite a lot of diehard fans. Information originally dropped last month, but now we have a on-feet photos of four out of the six shoes.
The pack includes themed shoes for all of the houses within the Hogwarts school. First, a Vans Sk8-Hi is done up in the colors of Gryffindor, Harry Potter’s home Hogwarts house. The shoes feature the house colors of red and gold in a striped upper accented with black suede. A lion crest rests on the lateral side of the shoe. Slytherin, the ‘evil’ house, has a Vans Era model dressed in black and green snakeskin and equipped with a tongue badge for a nod to its serpentine mascot. Another Sk8-Hi features a blue checkerboard print interspersed with Harry’s signature lightning scar and textured iridescent overlays. The Era returns again as well, covered in an all-over Daily Prophet print that features headlines and articles from the wizarding world’s leading newspaper. Although we do not have on-feet pictures, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff — the other two Hogwarts houses — round out the collection and are represented by a Vans Slip-On and Vans Authentic.
Although this collection is a bit childish, the devout fans of Harry Potter are always willing to show their support for the wizarding universe. Each shoe is well thought-out and executed, in typical Vans fashion.
It is interesting that Vans is able to glide across so many different demographics, from their original skate and surf culture to different groups they can reach to with licensed collaborations like this and other work with brands like Disney.
Expect this Harry Potter x Vans Capsule Collection to release on June 7th.
